The "Indiano" dream in Encartaciones.
Discover the "Indiano" colonial-style architecture and way of life on a guided tour of the Concha district of Karrantza Harana, in Encartaciones.
The walking tour begins in the Concha neighbourhood of Karrantza Harana, the place chosen by most of the returning colonists, known as "Indianos", to build their houses. "Indiano" architecture is the most spectacular mark made by this movement.
While seeing the different "Indiano" houses, a guide will explain the history of these wealthy individuals. You'll find out about the main features of these homes: how they were laid out, the technology used to build them and so on, as well as the way of life and the philanthropic side of their owners and their impact on the country area around them.
